In Loving Memory of Buddy
April 5, 2025
A little dog with a giant heart, Buddy was more than just a pet, he was family, a constant, a soulmate in fur. For nearly 12 years, he brought unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and a kind of comfort that only those who have loved and been loved by a dog can truly understand.
Buddy was small in size but limitless in spirit. With his big expressive brown eyes, his gentle soul, and his fiercely loyal heart, he was a companion through every season of life; joys, storms, heartbreaks, and healing. He was there in the quiet moments, the loud ones, and all the in-betweens, curled up next to the people he loved most, making sure they were never alone.
He was brave, even as his little body endured more than its share, pancreatitis, a gallbladder mucocele, an enlarged liver, and a stage 5 heart murmur. Still, he fought. Still, he loved. Still, he showed up every day with eyes that said, “I’m still here, and I’m still yours.”
He claimed beds, hearts, and car backseats with quiet authority, and he gave the most gentle, perfect cuddles. He had a way of knowing when his humans needed him most, and he always responded not with words, but with closeness, a nuzzle, a paw, or a cough/sigh that said, “I’m here.”
On the morning of April 5th, Buddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the arms of the one who loved him most. In his final moments, he wrapped his paws around her neck, nestled his face into her chest, and left this world the same way he lived in it: with love.
His ashes have returned home, where his favorite bed sits by the nightstand, and his presence still lingers in the air, the wind, the quiet.
Buddy, you were the very best boy. You made this world better by simply being in it, and you made our lives fuller by loving us through everything. You are deeply missed. Every. Single. Day.
Until we meet again. run free, be at peace, and know that your paw prints are forever etched on our hearts.
Forever loved.
Forever remembered.
