As a seventh grader I went to the shelter, immediately picked out Nila, and never looked back. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I Never learned exactly how old she was or what her past was like, but I was fortunate enough to have her as my best friend for the next eleven years. Her unconditional comfort carried me through the most difficult times in my teenage and college years, all while putting up with my constant photos and videos of her. But she was incredibly social, leaving a lovely impression on every guest to come in our home. and while i still cry thinking about her a month later, I can't overstate how grateful I am to have had her in my life. Love you forever, Nila.
