Rocky Morrison,
Thank you for being there for our family during Covid-19, during our move and during the dark times. It has been said that a dog is a “man’s best friend”…but you were more than “just” a friend, you were the guardian of our home, the protector from 12 inches and below, always bringing a little bit of sunshine to each and every one of us. You were an energetic, happy fireball and member of our family.
We remember how you would always scamper when we said “gitchur toy toy”! How you would endlessly chase toilet paper roles and socks around the house. We remember how you teased your big brothers, Major and Simon…and how you would chase your sister, Dakota, when we would say “git the kitty”. We loved how you would get so happy when you heard us say “Major, Rocky, Simon”, how you would always “look back” for your brothers when you went to go “potty” and how you would get excited when we said “wanna go for a walk?” You loved the sun and you loved to eat and jump in and out of bathtubs. Thank you for making us laugh when you would run so fast and then stop and your little butt would almost do a somersault! Thank you for teaching us how to “air” swim in a jacuzzi.
Oh, how you must have been “laughing” as you ran throughout our home after your baths, knowing we could not catch you. We will always remember your little, black, cold nose and your jingling collar around the house, letting us know that “joy” is coming to say “hello”. Thank you for teaching us how to slip and slide on ice, how to eat cat food and how to persevere when you are scared, hurting and lonely.
Please rest and sleep, now, like you did, in the closet with your stuffed animals. Thank you for being our little friend. You will always remain in our hearts. You will never have to howl again…because, Rocky, you are never home alone, and you are home now.
