In Loving Memory of Skippy
June 7, 2009 – March 2, 2026

Skippy passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, in his home on Mulder Street in Lemon Grove, California, surrounded by the humans who loved him most: Nicolás, Claudia, and Jon.

Skippy was deeply loved and returned that love endlessly. He was sweet, gentle, and wonderfully cuddly, always happiest when he was close to his family. He was unbelievably soft and somehow always smelled good, a small comfort that will be missed more than words can say.

Skippy loved Claudia and Jon, but Nicolás was his person. Nicolás was Skippy's safe place, his favorite place, his whole world. Everyday Skippy chose him. While Nicolás worked on his school work, Skippy would sit on the bed beside his computer chair, gently placing a paw on his shoulder asking so sweetly for attention. Nicolás would scoop him up and hold him like a baby, and every time he picked him up, Skippy melted into him because that’s exactly where he felt he belonged. He slept in Nicolás’s bed. He waited for him. He listened for him. When Nicolás would get home from work, Skippy would perk up and look towards the door. When Nicolás would walk in, Skippy would get so excited, his eyes would follow him and he would vocalize a sweet hello.

Skippy had the politest little soul. He would come to Claudia, raise his paw to ask to be picked up, and if she said, “hold on,” he would patiently wait until she said it was okay. Only then would he jump up and curl into her lap, content and proud. When he was younger, Skippy would race down the hallway every night to get a goodnight kiss from Claudia as she tucked Nicolás in; never missing his chance to be part of the moment.

Skippy shared a special bond with Jon, too. He would curl up on his lap on the Lazy Boy, the two of them just sitting there together like old friends; quiet, steady, and completely at ease. Skippy loved the warmth and calm of those moments, and Jon treasured his companionship just as much. There was something simple and perfect about the way they’d spend time together; no fuss, no noise, just two guys relaxing side by side. Those peaceful afternoons and evenings will always be remembered with deep love.

Skippy was always happiest with his humans. They gave him a life full of safety, warmth, and love. And he knew it. Every single day of his life, he knew he was theirs and they were his.

He lived a life full of love, comfort, and devotion, and he gave all of that back tenfold. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
