Sushi

2018 - 2025

On June 10, 2025, I said goodbye to my best friend, my soul bird, my little shadow — Sushi.

Sushi came into my life when she was 3 years old. I rescued her from a neglectful situation, but honestly? She rescued me right back. The day I brought her home, she bonded with me instantly — and by the next day, she was already on my shoulder, like she’d always been there. From that moment, it was clear: we belonged to each other.

She never made normal bird sounds — instead, she peeped. The tiniest, sweetest little peeps, full of attitude and love. She was cuddly, sassy, and so ornery in the most hilarious way. Sushi had the biggest personality in such a tiny body, and she filled every corner of my life with love and chaos and joy.

In February 2025, Sushi got sick. Over just two months, she went completely blind. But that didn’t stop her — not my girl. She fought hard, and by the end of May, she was showing signs of getting better. She held on through it all, long enough to spend my 18th birthday by my side. She gave me everything she had in her last weeks — every little cuddle, every sleepy snuggle, every precious peep.

She left this world on her own terms, wrapped in love, and knowing she was safe. Sushi wasn’t just a bird. She was family.
I miss her with everything in me, but I know she’s flying high now — probably still sassing angels and stealing freckles in heaven.
Thank you for choosing me, Sushi. I’ll love you forever.
